nearby ...

I've only ever heard of Pauline Quirke (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pauline_Quirke) as a actor in Birds of a Feather so it was a surprise to hear about The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts: creating thrills and skills for life.

The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts
From Pauline herself:
I started The Pauline Quirke Academy (PQA) because when I was younger some of my happiest times were spent in drama classes. Looking back I can see that the skills I learnt and the friends I made were really where it all started for me, so I wanted to re-create that opportunity for a new generation of young people.
Since 2007, PQA has given 4-18 year olds an outstanding training in performing arts in an environment that is both friendly and rewarding. With training in all areas of the arts – including film & television, FREE Trinity College London exams, regular Creative Stages Reports to monitor progress, specialist masterclasses, our brilliant agency for professional work and the chance to see yourself on the big screen of your local cinema as well as perform in London’s West End, my team and I think we’ve put together a really different performing arts experience. I hope we can welcome you into the PQA family soon.

Our nearest academy is held at Derby Moor Community Sports College, Moorway Lane, Littleover, Derby, DE23 2FS
On Saturdays 9.45 til 1.00pm
Poppets (presumably the younger group) is 10.00 til 11.30am
