Walking past today, I noticed that Jack Rabbit's Kitchen in Queen Street is looking for an experienced barista.


Incidentally, this cafe is a great place to eat and to meet friends.  It's in the Cathedral Quarter, in fact not far from the Cathedral itself.  They serve freshly cooked, home-made food, and have a great deli department.  

There are lots of windows so it's interesting to look out and see the world go by.  This means that those seats can be a bit hot in summer and rather chilly in the winter, which I noticed someone was moaning about on TripAdviser.   The answer - sit away from the window! 

Also several people have expressed disappointment that not everything is on the menu always available.  Perhaps a price to pay for being served the freshest produce?

One person was bemoaning the fact that food is sometimes served on wooden platters, saying it was unhygienic.  Obviously this person is unaware of just how hygienic wood is (see: http://commonsensehome.com/never-do-to-your-cutting-board/).
